Is it just me or is Varian better looking these days? Continue reading
So it appears the main thing to come out of the Q&A today is that Blizzard online shop will need to stock in with a hell of a lot of Murloc mugs. Great product placement 😀 Continue reading
To recap, found this abandoned bike on the beach:
And so far Justin has not come forward to claim said bike. I did try leaving a message with Falrogh but he did seem a little tipsy at the time so I also left a notice with the Explorers league. Ok so they may have made it into a paper aeroplane…but I did try!
Ok so what did I find?
Firstly I found Shrooms! .. And not just any mushrooms but under water ones. Huge sets of mushrooms under the sea.
And then there were the disco shrooms:
And the glowing shrooms amongst the glowing quest items (which I didn’t have a quest for)
Ok enough shrooms, but I felt they needed a mention somewhere as someone has put some effort into them.
After taking the bike for a ride along the beach I found the remains of a Goblin car crash:
And upon further investigation I also found a little goblin camp not far away. Outside the house I found somewhere to repair, not as cute as Jeeves though eh.
The owner of this hut also shared the same love of bananas to adorn the walls. Is this a thing? do all Goblins love bananas? Hmmm
And yet another cutesy crafted lamp, however the choice of artwork is slightly different in taste hehe
The Goblin that lived here also had his very own fighter planes, albeit a scared looking one.
People really do seem to discard their vehicles easy these days, I found this little buggy along the beach strip
Love the artwork on it though, reminded me of the shark from the Brawlers Guild
Found even more goblin carts and supplies..
but apparently this one was not to be tampered with. As I found out after being jumped by this rare Goblin.
I was surprised but not as surprised as mining for some ore and having this thing pop out and try and eat me!
After killing him though he did at least leave me some nice extra loot in his pockets so I look forward to meeting a few more of these in the expansion.
So where are all the Birdmen you say?
After borrowing Justin’s Chopper I was able to make my way around Arak a lot faster, so I thought I would share some more sights and random finds.
The place itself is actually quite beautiful: full of wild flowers and golden sunsets. The Shattered hand of course are adding their own bit of savagery. For instance compare the same beast being aggravated by orcs….
to it’s sweet face whilst being left to it’s own devices.
The Shattered Hand have several different camps in this area and boy they are mean! I think when it comes to questing I will be enlisting the help of my guild mates as these guys respawn fast whilst solo, squishy and on beta at least. I managed to get a photo of one of the rare Orcs but he didn’t seem too impressed and kept hiding his face …. maybe he was just shy.
I did manage to get some sneaky ones whilst in wisp form .. er I mean I deliberately took them like that because the effect looks so cool.
There are also a hell of a lot of bones and skulls hanging around but I have yet to meet the thing that this huge skull came out of.
Along the way obviously I did bump into a few things that wanted to kill me and I was happy to find that I managed to loot the knowledge of fishing.. Am not sure if this is just for beta or something to stay but I quite like the nice surprise of a drop like that. It also meant I felt obliged to use it and try out the fishing (which I very rarely do)
Then I caught a bait so I thought best use that too, and I managed to bag cooking, first aid and an alchemy quest too. but the most awesome was — AWESOMEFISH!!
Well if they keep this idea of things dropping with fishing or killing then it might give me personally a better reason to fish. Obviously the drop rate won’t be as lucky however it is still a nice idea to learn other crafts.
The best find I had fishing though i was rather excited for a rubber duck!! … I looted, checked it was for keeps then used it to throw for my lil otter. I was way to slow getting the screen shot though, and it was not in my toy box so I guess it was a one use but it had a cool down time 🙁
I had to console poor little Jingo after he lost his toy in the sea and I could not fish it back up. So I shall leave you for now with this landscape shot so you don’t feel the guilt of this crying panda and sadface otter.
Today I noticed a tweet and some blogs showing that good ole wow community spirit, so I thought I would add my love of wow to the list.
Back to the flag waving, now I have that off my chest. With Beta at my fingertips and a premade level 100 to do my bidding I can at least go off in search of adventure right?
I can sign up for dungeons, I can try out healing, tanking, dps on any class I want, and use any race …. a ‘gamers paradise’.
And what do I want to do? Continue reading
Firstly I should say that I am aware that if I grumble about a change for the expansion, then I know that if it is something that annoys me, there are probably many others that love the idea. I am aware I am slow to accept change if forced upon me. So let’s get this out of the way with a visual…
Where to start with the beta *ponders*
Change: for some it brings excitement, for others it brings misery. For myself I tend to waver somewhere in between. Don’t get me wrong I love that the game is pressing forward and changing things to keep things fresh and appealing for both the player and those working for Blizzard. However I still can’t entirely shake off all the things that I have grown used to, and I think that is a good thing otherwise I wouldn’t be able to say after ten years , I still love this game. And I do…yes still.
So I will be posting some of my thoughts & feelings towards the Beta, in a mixed up fashion to keep it balanced out 😉 To begin with I guess we get the obvious complaint out the way first… Gnomes — not all gnomes, just female ones. The male ones look fantastic, the female in neutral pose is not so appealing. It is not that i am saying they are bad as such, because I believe that whilst running/emoting they look rather cheeky and sweet still: in fact the rude emote really captures their Gnomish spirit. But the Neutral pose is just..
I am still holding out hope that this is still to be addressed though, otherwise my gnome character will be getting thrown in a box & I am going to make a killing selling bandit masks! On the other side of the coin — I love the new female dwarf. The new skin makes her movement more fluid and I love the new face & hairstyles. Although they do not exactly match up to the old models at the moment, I guess that will be ironed out by November, and in the meantime they still look good. My favourite thing is the small but significant /sleep emote. Now they lie down in a fluid movement.
For the female Night elf, I know there were a fair few upset with the whole monobrow thing and a few references to Joffrey knocking about. However tweaks now made and we can all enjoy the new more sturdier but still feminine Nelf. Now my hunter actually looks like she can hold Mimiron’s repeater if she ever feels the need to 😉
I don’t really favour the dancing expressions personally, however the new underwear is appreciated.
The female humans, I like the new body and the movement. The faces are a bit mismatched I think at the moment (or were when I copied mine), as I am sure I ended up with the stern face on my ditsy character and vice versa. Yes, I am aware of how mad it sounds but they all have their own character now after ten years of carving it out for themselves. So I like the new looks and hairstyles, though I think it would be good if we can get a free facelift at the start if we are going to be landed with one that doesn’t keep the same spirit of the original character. Oh and if you could make my paladin less sleepy so she can stop pulling the goofy yawn face every 20 secs that would be appreciated too. Failing that I will have to be constantly mounted up … scratch that it has changed so, er …. I shall be constantly saying /no
Overall I am glad of the character updating, a few grumbles here which was expected. A couple of future changes I am hoping will make me happier so I don’t lose my old character’s spirit or just whole characters in the gnome cases. However I put my trust in Blizzard to have things tweaked up by release date, because lets be honest nobody wants to go to work only to have customers whine at them all day 😉
One last thing to end on a high note though and this is my most looked forward to characterwise. SPACE …. soooo much bag space back, hooray! Ten years of dresses and shoes can get awfully hard to store .
*waves pom poms for the wardrobe guys*
Well after recovering from the excitement of the Lords of War… er, I mean the cinematic trailer, yes.
After I had watched both again for good measure. I moved onto thinking about the clips for the new expansion and what we have in store for us. Continue reading
