I’m sure by now most of the Warcraft community are back online and finding out all the secrets and feels that came along with the pre-expansion patch. Fear not, if you are awaiting a non digital copy and somehow managed to avoid spoilers so far then I’m not going to ruin them for you. However I just really wanted to make a post to say how great it’s been to feel the love for Warcraft being rekindled.
Is what I mean. At last something exciting going on that means people are leaving their garrisons and in droves! There is something quite special about flying with a pack of unknown others and knowing that we all have the same goal in mind. The unity between factions even is a lovely thing – I didn’t even get killed on my lowbie after tab some stray tab targeting shots were fired (which btw Blizzard next time would be nice to not have).
I even got myself a Horde character after being stubbornly Alliance for over a decade. OK, OK so I may have accidently made a demon hunter on that side after not realising I had to make a choice and just taking what was on screen. In my defence I think I had only seen the Belf types (I’m told this is because the Twitter peeps I follow just prefer Horde), and to be honest they look better (sorry Nelfs).
I’m glad I did though as then it encouraged me to level up my last years Horde boost (free achievement) and with the help of a friend and some nice levelling exp from invasions I now have a geared up monk which was a new class for me to try out and enjoy), three new toys (Horde only can buy) , some troll shoes and a pet from the shards (which Alliance can get too).
Also the main thing I wanted was to be able to view the Horde side of things within that context rather than on you tube and I’m glad I did, the shorts on both sides were amazing and I’m lucky that I did the broken shore before making a demon hunter as I think this might have ruined things for me after dodging Twitter spoilers.
So my recommendations are get out there, have fun again and find your WoW mojo all over again. Do the broken shore quest line which you get as soon as you log in on a 100 character (in fact 98 upwards can do) and then do it all again on the opposing faction. Make a demon hunter (the animations are awesome, so fluid in movement) and enjoy the eye beam. Grab your toys, achievements n pets while you can and rein in that pretty much free experience from the invasions.
Don’t regret missing out on this bit now as you never quite know how the rest will turn out!
